Progressive Caucus Calls on Leadership to Put Public Option Back On The Health Reform Agenda
Wednesday February 03, 2010Reps. Raśl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) and Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), co-chairs of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, today called on House and Senate leaders to put a public option back on the table as health reform moves forward. In light of the more than 120 co-signers of the Pingree/Polis letter calling for the measure to be included in any final bill, Grijalva and Woolsey said a public insurance option should be the centerpiece of any reconciliation effort between the two chambers.

Grijalva Commends University of Arizona Research on Chronic Illness, Says Information Will Save State Money
Friday January 29, 2010As the push for a better national health care system continues in Congress, Rep. Raśl M. Grijalva today commended the University of Arizona for receiving a new $790,000 chronic disease research grant through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The money, which is part of a $25 million nationwide CDC effort, has been given to the school's Prevention Research Center for research on chronic health problems such as heart disease, asthma and diabetes in border communities.

Grijalva Hails Announcement of Recovery Act Funds For New Federal Courthouse Construction in Yuma
Friday January 22, 2010Rep. Raśl M. Grijalva today announced that nearly $28 million has been granted through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for the construction of a new federal courthouse in Yuma.
