Grijalva Congratulates Pima County Community Development and Neighborhood Conservation Department on New Federal Grant

Yuma, Ariz. – Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva today congratulated the Pima County Community Development and Neighborhood Conservation Department on its new $27,500 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Combined with other funds, the grant allows the agency to fund county-wide home improvements to remove health, safety and accessibility barriers.

With this and other related grants, the agency is investing more than $1 million in home improvements. More information is available by contacting Artemio Hoyos at (520) 243-6752 or Artemio.hoyos@pima.gov.

“Home improvements are a quality-of-life upgrade that creates jobs, makes peoples’ families healthier and more comfortable, and improves neighborhood property values all at the same time,” Grijalva said. “Our economic recovery isn’t going to happen by magic – we need to make smart investments that build stronger, more prosperous communities for the long term. This is welcome news for the families who will benefit, for the neighborhoods they live in, and for everyone who cares about a better Pima County.”
