Co-Chairs of the Congressional Progressive Caucus Pen Op-ed on Newest Round of GOP Tax Cuts for The Hill
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) penned an op-ed in The Hill highlighting the latest efforts by congressional Republicans to make their tax cuts for the wealthy and large corporations permanent. The op-ed read in part:
“If President Trump and Republicans get their way, their donors and corporate special interests will get a second massive handout, while the rest of us are stuck with the bill. This is all wrong. We need to strengthen public services and make investments in our future on everything from health care to infrastructure to schools—not cut them. Corporations and the wealthy should pay their fair share of taxes, not receive even larger tax cuts. Taking money from public investments and giving it to the rich and corporations is just another glaring example of President Trump and the GOP further rigging an economic system that is already stacked against working families.”
