EPA Announces Border 2012 Program Request for Proposals (RFP)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), San Diego Border Office and the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) will be having a series of workshops to share information and answer questions about the upcoming Request for Proposals (RFP), for the Border 2012 Program. The Border 2012 U.S.-Mexico Environmental Program works to protect human health and the environment in the border region. Border 2012 seeks to improve environmental health and reduce pollution in water, air, and on land, reduce exposure to chemicals from accidental releases and improve environmental stewardship.

The RFP opens on May 1, 2009 and closes on June 30, 2009. Interested applicants will be able to access the RFP on the BECC’s web page http://www.cocef.org/ on this date. Proposals can be submitted by eligible applicants only. Eligible applicants are U.S. and Mexican non-governmental organizations, local and state governmental agencies, industry associations, universities, Mexican federal agencies, U.S. tribes, and Mexican indigenous communities. For-profit entities are not eligible to apply.
