Granting Agency: Department of Health & Human Services Indian Health Service

Amount: $227,953

Purpose: Health promotion and disease prevention.

Recipient: Mariposa Community Health Center, Inc. (Nogales)

Granting Agency: Health Resources and Services Administration

Amount: $255,664

Purpose: Improving perinatal health in the Nogales border region.

Recipients: Arizona Department of Housing, Primavera Foundation

Granting Agency: Department of Housing and Urban Development

Amount: $1,293,876 (Arizona), $41,941 (Primavera)

Purpose: To provide counseling to families and individuals facing the threat of home foreclosure.

Recipients: City of Tucson, Housing Authority of the City of Yuma

Granting Agency: Department of Housing and Urban Development

Amount: $240,000 each

Purpose: Help public housing and Indian housing residents achieve economic and housing self-sufficiency.

Recipient: Habitat for Humanity of Yuma, Inc.

Granting Agency: USDA Rural Development

Amount: $975,000 loan, $100,000 grant

Purpose: Construction of home improvement and recycling center in Yuma.

 

Available Grant

Amount available: More than $5 million

Granting Agency: Department of Labor’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program

Purpose: To provide approximately 3,000 homeless veterans with job training and other services to help them succeed in civilian careers.
