Grijalva Announces Congressional App Challenge

TUCSON – Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) released the following statement today inviting high school students from Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District to participate in the 2015 Congressional App Challenge. This 10-week competition allows students to compete individually or in teams of up to four in developing their own software application. Winning students will have their apps featured on a display in the U.S. Capitol Building and will receive Congressional recognition.

Students can determine if they live in Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District by clicking here.

“New apps change the world we live in every single day,” Rep. Grijalva said. “There is tremendous opportunity for anyone able to conceive, develop and launch their own apps, and we must make sure that opportunity is available to all students. The Congressional App Challenge is a great chance for students to gain those skills, and to ensure the cutting edge fields of tomorrow reflect the diversity of the American people. I look forward to all of the great entries from students in the 3rd Congressional District!”
