Washington, D.C. – Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva will participate in the 48th Interparliamentary Meeting of United States and Mexican Legislators at in Seattle, Washington this weekend.
The meeting of bi-national leaders allows legislators to define ways to contribute and consolidate the relationship between the two countries and generate progress and development in the region.
“This meeting is critical in helping us to address border policy,” said Grijalva. “Bi-national legislative efforts are necessary to improve the border security, environment, infrastructure, and overall management of the border region between our two countries. Immigration reform is a key component to successful border security. We must work towards ensuring migration is legal, orderly and secure, and with full respect for families and human rights. Failure to adequately address today’s critical issues at our borders will only further an already desperate situation.”
The legislators will discuss the issues of energy and the environment, migration and economic trade.
