Grijalva Congratulates Pascua Yaqui on Significant Health Grant

TUCSON – Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) released the following statement today congratulating the Pascua Yaqui Tribe on receiving a $120,000 grant award from Indian Health Service (IHS) to help fund the tribe’s ability to provide health care to tribal membership and to operate and manage health care programs which were previously run by IHS.

“Congratulations to my friends in the Pascua Yaqui Tribe for receiving this significant and well-deserved award,” Rep. Grijalva said. “These funds will help the Pascua Yaqui Health Department serve the medical needs of their membership, and bolster their self-reliance as a tribe. With just eight tribes across the country receiving these awards, I am glad that IHS recognized the Pascua Yaqui as the strong investment that they are.”
