Washington, D.C. – Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva today congratulated the University of Arizona and the Arizona Department of Health Services on newly announced grants of $299,200 and $100,000, respectively, from the Department of Health and Human Services.
The grants were awarded as part of $50.5 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment allocated for the purchase of educational equipment for institutions training future health professionals.
“Investing in up-to-date technology and equipment is vital to keeping Arizona health professionals competitive,” Grijalva said. “This money is advancing health care not just in this state, but wherever University graduates ultimately practice medicine. I’m glad that the University and the state are able to take advantage of this opportunity to modernize, and I encourage officials at all levels to continue to pursue this kind of upgrade.”
