Grijalva Highlights Availability of $474 Million in Federal Transportation Infrastructure Grants – Applications Open April 29

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva today highlighted the Department of Transportation announcement of newly available funds for the next round of the TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) Discretionary Grant program.

The Fiscal Year 2013 TIGER grant program will make $474 million available for projects having a significant impact on the nation, a metropolitan area, or region. As in prior rounds of funding, this year’s TIGER grants are for capital investments in surface transportation infrastructure and will be awarded on a competitive basis.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications in advance of the application deadline. Please be aware of the following:

Ø  No pre-applications are required for this round of TIGER grants.

Ø  The system opens to receive applications on April 29.

Ø  The deadline for final applications is June 3 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
