Grijalva Invites Yuma Students to Military Academy Night on Wed., April 18, at Kofa High School to Learn About Application Process

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva today invited Yuma-area students to tomorrow evening’s military academy night at Kofa High School at 3100 S. Avenue A in Yuma. The event, which begins at 5:00 p.m., will feature representatives of each military service branch and a staffer with Rep. Grijalva’s office to assist with nomination applications.

The event is open to middle school and high school students interested in a military career. Servicemembers will discuss their military experiences, the importance of strong academics, the need for a clean police record and the value of participation in student government and extracurricular activities.

Military academy night, which began several years ago as a Grijalva office event in cooperation with Cibola High School, is now in its third year of being run by Yuma Union High School District. For more information, contact Elizabeth Aguirre in the Kofa High School Guidance Office at (928) 502-5557.
