TUCSON – Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.), Ranking Member of the House Natural Resources Committee released the following statement on the 3-2 approval of the Keystone XL pipeline through Nebraska.
“Approving this unneeded project days after a major pipeline spill shows the people of Nebraska whose interests are really being protected here,” said Rep. Grijalva. “This pipeline is designed to help a single company make money at the expense of the social, economic and environmental well-being of millions of others. Everyone who cares about the rule of law looks forward to this unjustifiable decision losing in court. These decisions must respect Tribes, private property and the public good over special corporate interests, and this vote ignored them all.”
