Grijalva Welcomes Labor Sec. Solis to Tucson April 27 To Speak on Protecting Workers From Heat-Related Illnesses (Includes Q & A)

Tucson, Ariz.– Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva today announced that he will welcome Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis to Tucson April 27 to promote a national outreach effort by the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration to protect outdoor workers from heat-related illnesses. Solis will speak at the University of ArizonaTucsonAreaAgricultural Center at 4101 N. Campbell at 10:30 a.m. local time.

“Secretary Solis has done great work protecting the working people of this country from work-related injuries, illnesses and injustices, and I’m glad to welcome her again to Southern Arizona,” Grijalva said. “This is a chance for outdoor workers and the community as a whole to hear how strong regulations are reducing risk to our working families. I look forward to the event and thank Secretary Solis for her engagement with the people who need her leadership most.”

The event will include a media Q & A session with both officials.
