Grijalva Welcomes Southern Arizona Veterans to Job Workshop and Training Event This Wednesday at Yuma Private Industry Council

Tucson, Ariz. – Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva will host a jobs and economic workshop for Southern Arizona veterans at the Yuma Private Industry Council (YPIC) headquarters in Somerton on Wednesday, Oct. 24, in partnership with the YPIC, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Arizona Department of Economic Security. The event is free and open to veterans and their spouses interested in learning more about job opportunities, retraining, and local business investment programs.

Grijalva will speak at the event and be on hand to explain federal assistance programs for veteran employees and business owners.

“The federal government is going to play a key role if we’re going to get Southern Arizona and the rest of the country back to work, and veteran families deserve every chance we can give them to re-enter the economy successfully,” Grijalva said.

This is another in an ongoing series of job training, business and economic improvement events Grijalva has held during the 112th Congress. He previously hosted job seeker boot camps in Yuma and Santa Cruz counties, a green careers fair and a mobile marketing seminar in Pima County, and a Yuma County social media business training, among other events.
