Grijalva Will Deliver Capitol Building U.S. Flags to Marine Corps League, American Legion Post in Tucson Ceremonies June 27

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva will deliver a U.S. flag that has flown over the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., to the Marine Corps League and another to America Legion Yoeme Post 125 in separate Tucson ceremonies June 27.

“Few things make me prouder as a Member of Congress than recognizing and saluting the tremendous sacrifices of our soldiers and their families,” Grijalva said. “I look forward to offering a measure of esteem for their service and to sharing time with some great men and women in our community.”

The Yoeme Post is located on Pascua Yaqui tribal land, but is open to veterans of all backgrounds. The tribe donated labor to renovate the facility last year, which ended in a significant upgrade completed in November 2010.

The Marine Corps League runs programs for injured Marines, youth, and veterans of the Marine Corps, and provides assistance with VA benefits for eligible former soldiers and their families. The American Legion is a congressionally chartered aid organization for veterans of all military services and campaigns.
