TUCSON— Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva announced that the Small Business Administration’s Shuttered Venue Operators Grants program will begin accepting applications beginning today, April 8th. The additional funding for the program was secured under the recently passed American Rescue Plan. Local venue operators can get more information on eligibility requirements and apply for the program here.
“Small venues are critical parts of Tucson’s vibrant cultural offerings,” said Rep. Grijalva. “They’ve been devastated by the pandemic, and this grant program is a lifeline for them to continue paying their workers and avoid permanent closures. I am proud to have been an early supporter of the Save Our Stages Act, and am pleased to see this program finally taking shape. This aid is especially beneficial to the live venues that have taken the necessary steps to protect the people of Arizona, and they deserve compensation. When this pandemic ends, I can’t wait to see these businesses bounce back stronger than ever and play an important role in revitalizing our economy.”
