Rep. Grijalva Celebrates Democracy Award For Best Constituent Services with Local Community
TUCSON, ARIZONA—Last night, over 100 Tucson residents joined Rep. Grijalva’s office for a reception celebrating their Democracy Award for Best Constituent Services in the U.S. House of Representatives from the Congressional Management Foundation. The event celebrated the office’s award-winning constituent services and their advocacy on behalf of the residents of Arizona’s Third Congressional District and included remarks from Rep. Grijalva and constituents who have received assistance from the office.
“While much attention is focused on the policy debates in Washington, constituent services are at the core of every action we undertake,” said Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva. “Caseworkers are the unsung heroes of any congressional office, and I’m proud to say that we have some of the best in the country. Each day, they come to work and move mountains for the people of Arizona’s Third Congressional District and help them get the services they deserve from numerous federal agencies.”
Since 2003, Rep Grijalva’s Office has served over 15,000 individuals and their families and helped them keep their homes, reunite with their families, and get the benefits they deserve from federal agencies. In FY2017, caseworkers have saved the constituents of Arizona’s Third Congressional District a total of $2 million in foreclosure postponements and modifications alone.
Rep. Grijalva currently has offices in Tucson, Somerton, and Avondale and mobile office hours every month in Nogales and San Luis. Office hours for each office are posted on Rep. Grijalva’s congressional website.
