Rep. Grijalva Delivers $47,518,610 to Lower Costs and Increase Energy Efficiency for Arizona Households

Expanded Funds from Infrastructure Law for Weatherization Assistance Program Will Create Jobs and Lower Costs for Hardworking Arizonans

TUCSON, Ariz. -Today, Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-03) announced a $47,518,610  investment from the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) to lower costs and increase energy efficiency for Arizona’s hardworking families. The Infrastructure Law Rep. Grijalva helped pass expanded WAP so more working families can have their homes retrofitted. WAP home retrofitting includes installing insulation, updating heating and cooling systems, upgrading electrical appliances, and making other common-sense changes to keep homes warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer with less energy usage.

“The expanded funding for the Weatherization Assistance Program is one of the many reasons I voted to pass the Infrastructure Law.” said Rep. Grijalva. “Weatherization Assistance Program home retrofitting will lower utility bills, create good-paying American jobs, and expand access to clean energy for hardworking Arizona families. I will continue to advocate for additional funding and legislation to ensure that we address the fundamental issue of climate change and make our country more sustainable and resilient.”
