WASHINGTON — Today, Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.) released the following statement on House Republicans’ budget reconciliation package:

“The House Budget Committee resolution that passed yesterday marks a historic effort to divert taxpayer dollars from programs that support the middle class in order to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy,” said Rep. Grijalva. “This blatant giveaway to billionaire Elon Musk will harm millions of American families by paving the way for devastating cuts to critical health, education, housing, and community development programs. The end result will be higher unemployment, more people suffering from illness, decreased business and economic development, and a less sustainable future for all Americans. With this bill, Republicans are showing their true colors – they stand only with the wealthy and are willing to sacrifice everything else. I urge Republicans to stop this rip off of the American public and stand up for their constituents by strongly denouncing this proposal.”
