WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-07) announced his committee assignments for the 118th Congress. He returns to Congress as the ranking member of the Natural Resources Committee and as a senior member of the Education and Workforce Committee.
“It is an honor to return to both Committees this Congress. I’m proud to serve as the top Democrat on Natural Resources and as a senior member of the Education and Workforce Committee,” said Rep. Grijalva. “With the immense challenges of drought, climate change, improving education systems post-pandemic, and labor rights issues in Arizona and across the country, there’s significant work to be done. I’ll continue to leverage these positions to help deliver for the people of Southern Arizona.”
Under the leadership of Ranking Member Raúl M. Grijalva, House Natural Resources Committee Democrats are working to advance meaningful, justice-oriented solutions to fight climate change, pursue a healthier, more sustainable planet, and elevate the interests of Indigenous Peoples and residents of U.S. Insular Areas.
On the House Committee on Education and Workforce, Rep. Grijalva sits on the Subcommittees on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education; and Higher Education and Workforce Development. The Committee’s basic jurisdiction is over education and labor matters, generally. This includes oversight over matters related to higher and early education, workforce development and protections, and health, employment, labor, and pensions.
