WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Rep. Raúl M Grijalva issued the following statement after the passing of Congressman Ed Pastor:

“The passing of Congressman Pastor is a loss to all of us—but none more so than to his family, his beloved wife Verma, his daughters Yvonne and Laura, his mother, and his grandchildren who he cherished dearly.

“To me, he was a friend, mentor, and a rarity in politics who treated people with honesty and good humor. Arizona will miss Ed—we all will.

“Ramona and I extend our genuine sympathy and prayers to the Pastor family. My friend Ed was a giant in Arizona’s history and should be memorialized as such.”
