TUCSON, AZ—Today, Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva issued the following statement on the passing of former congressman and founding member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus Ron Dellums:

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Ron Dellums. For decades, he served the public as an unapologetic progressive and never wavered in furthering civil rights, empowering working families, and opposing prolonged military engagements abroad. As a founding member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, he put those ideas into action, and his stalwart advocacy provided an important foundation for today’s progressive movement. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through those he inspired to enter public office, serve their communities, and fight for the welfare and dignity of everyone—no matter their background.”
