Rep. Grijalva to Host Press Conference on $1.2 Million Secured for PCC Building and Construction Program

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tomorrow, Thursday, January 25 at 10 AM, Representative Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-07) will host a press conference following his tour of Pima Community College’s Building & Construction Technology (BCT) program. Rep. Grijalva recently secured $1,232,600 in the Fiscal Year 2023 appropriations process to enable the program to purchase equipment to expand into commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration training.

The Arizona construction industry is facing challenges with experienced labor shortages due to a scarcity of trained workers. This program will share knowledge and train students by upskilling existing workers, creating new ones, and expanding a much-needed talent pipeline.

Rep. Grijalva is a senior member of the Education and Workforce Committee and has been a strong supporter of Pima Community College and educational and workforce training programs across southern Arizona.
