Rep. Grijalva Votes to Protect Health Care for Millions of Arizonans

WASHINGTON, DC— Today, House Democrats took the first step in protecting the Affordable Care Act by passing a resolution that will allow them to intervene in the Texas v. U.S. lawsuit that effectively dismantles the Affordable Care Act. In response, Rep. Grijalva issued the following statement:

“Access to health care is a matter of life and death, and I am proud to support one of the first actions by the new Democratic majority which will help stop the Republican attacks on the American people’s health care. American voters spoke loud andclear in November when they elected Democrats to protect those with preexisting conditions, safeguard essential benefits, and ensure health care is more affordable and accessible to millions of people. Democrats are proving we will not back down from the fight to protect 133 million Americans with pre-existing conditions—including  2.8 million Arizonans. With the support of the outraged American public, we will succeed in stopping the Republican Party’s assault on lifesaving care.”
