WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Raul M. Grijalva (AZ-07) announced the opening of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Community Project Funding Portal for the 7th Congressional District of Arizona. Under guidelines issued by the House Appropriations Committee, each Representative may request funding for up to 15 projects in their community for FY 2024 – although only a handful may be funded.
House Republicans excluded requests for community funding projects related to Labor, Health, Human Services and Education and Financial Services and General Government.
“We’ve seen as a result of the Community Project Funding process more than $20 million invested into southern Arizona for community development,” said Rep. Grijalva. “It is unfortunate that Republicans are refusing to accept certain community projects related to health and human services, education and financial services. Despite these arbitrary and detrimental exclusions, I’ll continue to advocate for projects that will support underserved areas and make a difference in communities across the 7th Congressional District of Arizona.”
Rep. Grijalva’s FY 2024 Submission Portal is open here. The deadline for submissions to Rep. Grijalva’s office is Sunday, March 12 at 11:59 p.m. AZ.
A full list of Community Project Funding accounts that are eligible for project submission is available here.
Submissions must fall into one of the eligible accounts, and be submitted by a state, local, or tribal government, non-profit organization or institution of higher education. Some accounts have matching fund requirements and Rep. Grijalva’s office encourages interested parties to read applicable account criteria thoroughly. Accepted projects must be prepared to demonstrate community support for their project by collecting letters of support and other supporting documents.
