Rep. Grijalva Celebrates $600,000+ Veterans Housing Grant Award to the Tohono O’odham Nation

January 9, 2026

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Adelita S. Grijalva celebrated the award of $622,637 in federal funding to the Tohono O’odham Kiki Housing Authority to expand housing support for Native American veterans on the Tohono O’odham Nation. The grant will be used to provide rental assistance to approximately 20 Native American veterans.

“Native American veterans have sacrificed immensely for our country, yet too many continue to face barriers to stable housing,” said Rep. Grijalva. “This investment represents an important step toward honoring their service and ensuring veterans on the Tohono O’odham Nation have access to the support they deserve. Following generations of historic disinvestment in tribal communities, it also highlights the critical need for sustained federal resources, which I will continue to advocate for in Congress.”
