Grijalva Condemns Racist Attacks on FCC Chairman Ajit Pai

WASHINGTON D.C. – With increasing focus on the Federal Communications Commission and their recent actions to pursue the dismantling of the 2015 Open Internet Order, which established strong anti-discrimination “net neutrality” rules, Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) issued the following statement condemning racist attacks on FCC Chairman Ajit Pai:

“While I strongly disagree with Chairman Pai on many policy issues, including his views on net neutrality, there is absolutely no excuse for the racist comments and threats we have seen entered in the public record,” Rep. Grijalva said. “Chairman Pai’s family including his two small children have unjustly become part of the discussion. We should all welcome vigorous, thoughtful debate on the policy details but we must also stand united in rejecting ugly and racist rhetoric, which have no place in civil public discourse.”
