Rep. Grijalva Congratulates Local Student Contestants in Congressional Art Competition

TUCSON, AZ – Congressman Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) today congratulated first place winner Dakota Worden from Canyon del Oro High School and her fellow competitors for participating in the 2015 Congressional Art Competition. More than two dozen students from throughout Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District submitted works, which were on display at a reception held in Grijalva’s Tucson office last night. Dakota’s piece, “Terrarium” won first place and will be on display in the U.S. Capitol for the next year. Ms. Worden will receive a free trip to Washington, D.C. to see her artwork being hung in person. Rep. Grijalva released the following statement:

“Congratulations to Dakota, and all participants in the 2015 Congressional Art Competition, for making 2015 one of our best years yet,” said Rep. Grijalva. “The talent and creativity on display in each of these works is truly inspirational. Every one of this year’s participants has made their school and their community proud, and set an outstanding example for their classmates to follow.”
