National Endowment for the Arts Releases 2011 Grant Guidelines – Theater, Visual Arts, Other Categories Are Open for Applications

Washington, D.C.– The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) today released updated grant guidelines for 2011. Information on how to apply for a variety of funding programs is available at http://www.arts.gov/grants/apply/index.html.

The Grants for Arts Projects program includes two funding categories: Art Works and Challenge America Fast-Track. The application deadlines for the two round of Art Worksare March 10 and August 11. The Challenge America Fast-Trackdeadline is May 26.

Challenge America Fast-Track grants:

  • Extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations.
  • Are limited to specific types of projects outlined in the announcement.
  • Are for $10,000 each.
  • Receive an expedited application review. Organizations are notified whether they have been recommended for a grant approximately six months after they apply; projects may start shortly thereafter.

Our Town grants are designed specifically to support projects that enhance the livability of a community and emphasize artistic contributions to community life. The first step in the Our Town application process is a statement of interest due on March 1.More specific information about the application process for Our Town is available at http://www.arts.gov/grants/apply/OurTown-presentation.html.
