WASHINGTON— Today, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced two grants at a combined total of $5.2 million to Tucson International Airport. The grants will be used to reconstruct a runway and rehabilitate a taxiway.
“This grant money will provide improvements to the Tucson International Airport’s runway, allowing them to continue improving their infrastructure to better serve the more than 3.2 million local residents and tourists who pass through annually,” said Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva. “This is the type of federal infrastructure investments we need to help drive the local economy, provide jobs, and invest in the long-term success of our community. I am proud to continually support bringing these important federal resources to Arizona’s Third Congressional District.”
